About Me
Hi, I’m Rebecca Waterson—a software engineer, storyteller, and former varsity swimmer. I recently graduated from Brown University with degrees in Computer Science and Literary Arts, and I’m heading to the University of Pennsylvania’s Computer Graphics and Game Technology program this fall.
I was inspired to explore the world of computer science after watching Moana in theaters in 2016. I loved the subtle attention to details, the personification of the ocean, and the beautiful storytelling. I realized that the magic of animation and storytelling could be created through code, and since then I’ve been on a journey to blend my love for narrative with my passion for technology.
My work spans web development, game design, and interactive media. I thrive at the intersection of creativity and code, crafting experiences that are both functional and engaging.
My fourteen years of competitive swimming taught me the value of discipline, resilience, and teamwork. I bring that same dedication to my projects, whether I’m building a complex web app or directing a 3D animated short film.
I love building tools that help people connect, reflect, and imagine. Whether it’s an AI-assisted planner, a memory-mapping platform, or a gamified Turing test, I approach every project with creativity, curiosity, and care.
When I’m not coding, I’m probably writing, swimming, hiking, or making shiny bugs in 3D ;)
